Brighton are ready to offload striker Joao Pedro if they receive a bid worth £70 million. The Brazilian has been a standout performer since joining from Watford in 2023, scoring 30 goals in 70 appearances across all competitions.
Joao Pedro’s Impact at Brighton
The 23-year-old was Brighton’s joint top scorer in the Premier League last season, with 10 goals. He shares that honor with Kaoru Mitoma and Danny Welbeck. His form has not gone unnoticed, and several Premier League clubs—most notably Arsenal—are now interested in signing him.
Arsenal’s Transfer Plans Backed by Ownership
Arsenal are actively seeking attacking reinforcements, and club co-chairman Josh Kroenke has publicly pledged financial support for Mikel Arteta this summer.
“We plan to invest to get behind winning and doing better next season,” Kroenke said.
He also highlighted the influence of new sporting director Andrea Berta in shaping Arsenal’s transfer strategy:
“We have a unified and strong team… We’re crystal clear on what needs to be done—the Arsenal way.”

Brighton Open to Offers but Not Pressured to Sell
Pedro remains under contract until 2028, so Brighton are in no rush to cash in. However, reports from The Sun suggest they would accept a suitable offer around the £70 million mark. Newcastle, Liverpool, and Aston Villa are also showing interest.
Training Dispute Addressed by Manager
Pedro faced a brief setback last season after a training-ground dispute with teammate Jan Paul van Hecke. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler commented:
“It was a minor issue, the kind that happens at all clubs. We handled it internally, and the matter is closed.
Hurzeler emphasized Pedro’s talent and character:
“He’s a match-winner and a vital player. But we have values, and I won’t compromise on them. I expect Joao to grow from this and come back stronger.”
