Kids Golf Classic Raises Record Funds for Parkersburg Boys and Girls Club.

VIENNA — The Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg is enjoying a milestone year.

In 2025, the organization celebrated its 60th anniversary. It also launched two new club locations in Mineral Wells and Athens County. Now, it is celebrating another achievement—its most successful fundraiser yet.

A Record-Breaking Golf Event

On Monday, the 29th annual Kids Golf Classic was held at the Parkersburg Country Club. The event raised a record-breaking $343,000. This brings the total contributions since the tournament began in 1997 to nearly $5 million.

The funds will directly support programs for children across the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Community Support Makes It Happen

Lynn Reins, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg, expressed heartfelt thanks.

ā€œI’m amazed and deeply moved every year by the support from Chad Mildren, Chief Consumer Banking Officer at United Bank, and the entire team,ā€ said Reins. ā€œRichard Adams, Executive Chairman of United Bankshares, Inc., always ensures the event gets even better.ā€

She explained that this single fundraiser covers about 20% of the club’s yearly operating expenses.

ā€œWith just one event, the community shows up in a big way for the kids,ā€ she added. ā€œI couldn’t be more thankful.ā€
