The Chicago Cubs are set to open their 2025 MLB season with a historic two-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. This event is particularly significant as it features five Japanese players: Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki from the Dodgers, and Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga from the Cubs. In preparation for the opener, the Cubs played an exhibition game against Japan’s Yomiuri Giants, securing a 4-2 victory.
