Bray Wanderers striker Billy O’Neill may attract summer interest from two prominent European teams. The 17-year-old is on the radar of Bundesliga powerhouse Bayer Leverkusen and Ligue 1 contenders Monaco, with both clubs potentially beating English teams to sign him during the summer transfer window.
The teenager is also attracting attention from Premier League and Championship clubs, but since O’Neill won’t turn 18 until next March, Brexit regulations prevent UK teams from signing him before his 18th birthday.
O’Neill has made 14 appearances for the Seagulls this season, scoring two goals against Athlone Town and Cobh Ramblers. He was part of the Ireland Under-17 team that achieved a historic first-ever qualification for the World Cup in that age group in March and is likely to be included in the squad for the tournament finals in Qatar this November.
O’Neill made his debut for Bray Wanderers at just 15 years old, and his impressive early performances quickly caught attention.
- He has also trained with Brentford B and continues to be monitored by Premier League scouts.
