Chelsea have a lot of decisions to make when it comes the the make-up of their squad particularly over Jadon Sancho’s future with his loan from Manchester United set to expire next monthFollowing their Conference League triumph, Chelsea have been urged to finalize a deal for Jadon Sancho. The Blues secured the title on Wednesday night with a 4-1 victory over Spanish club Real Betis.

Sancho, 25, came off the bench to score in Chelsea’s win, marking his second European goal of the season. The on-loan Manchester United player also contributed five assists during the Conference League campaign.

Chelsea must now decide on Sancho’s future. Currently, they’re expected to pay £25 million to make his move from Manchester United permanent, though they have the option to withdraw by paying a £5 million penalty. Former Chelsea player Joe Cole has shared his opinion, stating that Sancho should remain at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: “I believe Jadon is a top-quality player and has performed well. Although he’s been in and out of the lineup, I want to see him getting more game time. A player like him is valuable to have in your squad. Ultimately, I think the decision will come down to finances, but I’m a big fan of his.”

Overall, Sancho has netted five goals and supplied ten assists for Chelsea this season. When asked if the winger had done enough to justify a permanent transfer, Cole responded: “Yes, I do.”

“This is a player who became a star at a young age during his time at Dortmund. Things didn’t work out for him at Manchester United, but he’s regained his form at Chelsea. I believe he still has even more to offer.”

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has already hinted at uncertainty regarding Sancho’s long-term future. The Italian indicated that a decision is yet to be made, not just about Sancho but several other players as well.

He said: “I’m not sure. In recent weeks, when you’ve asked me about various players, I’ve always given the same answer — and that’s because it’s the honest truth.”

“We have the final tomorrow, so now isn’t the time. In the next 24 to 48 hours, we’ll begin discussing the future. But at this moment, no decisions or plans have been made regarding Jadon or any other players.”

Sancho’s future at Manchester United seems uncertain, especially if Ruben Amorim stays on as manager. He has just over a year left on his contract at Old Trafford
