The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring options to bolster their frontcourt, with Brook Lopez, a 37-year-old veteran center, emerging as a potential target. Lopez, who played for the Milwaukee Bucks from 2018 to 2025, would bring valuable experience, shooting range, and rim protection to the team.

Lopez is an elite rim protector, strong defensive presence, and reliable three-point shooter, having shot 37.3% from three in the 2024-25 season. He is an NBA champion, having won the title in 2021, and has 17 seasons of experience.

The Lakers are expected to be a player in the center market this summer, and NBA insider Jake Fischer suggests the team has “long been fans of Lopez.” However, there are potential concerns about Lopez’s age and mobility, as well as uncertainty about his contract.

The Lakers may also consider other options, such as Clint Capela, who is expected to leave the Atlanta Hawks in free agency.
